Broiler investigation receives national television coverage

On Thursday July 21, 2005, undercover footage from a five week long investigation conducted by Auckland Animal Action was televised nationwide when it was shown on the TV3 programme 'Stake-Out' hosted by Martyn 'Bomber' Bradbury. The footage was shot at a Tegel broiler chicken farm in Rimmers Road, Helensville, west of Auckland. The footage exposed Tegel's cruel intensive farming practices, showing many chickens struggling to support their huge overgrown bodies on crippled and deformed legs, along with many chickens that had died of the conditions and had been left to rot.
