Rescue 07: Parkhurst Farm (Shed 1): 5 birds removed
june 7, 2004

Three rescue team members entered the shed to see if a depopulation was imminent that evening. It wasn’t, but this small team was distressed to see ill birds and removed five of them for care and attention. Two of these birds were crippled and unable to stand. Dead bodies seen the night before were still inside the shed. The team kept watch on the property for a depopulation, which occurred 3 nights later…

June 10 2004 - Depopulation
The rescue team was able to film the depopulation of the shed. During mass removal of birds from the sheds only small blue lights are on, and the shed is in near darkness. A small group of men collect the birds by grabbing them by one leg, several in each hand (and sometimes by the wings) then putting them into metal crates that are collected by a forklift. The birds are quite stressed and some are panting, overall these are lame birds who have hardly used their limbs, yet are being roughly yanked up by one leg.
